Two 2009 studies suggest that natural eggshell membrane for joint or connective tissue disorders is a promising therapy. A study published in Clinical Rheumatology showed that a daily dose of 500 mg of NEM lessened joint pain and stiffness in as little as 10 days. Researchers also added that the benefit exceeded that of glucosamine and chondrotin in previous studies.

Another study published in Clinical Interventions in Aging also found that 500 mg of natural eggshell membrane a day reduced joint pain in as little as 7 days and for as long as 30 days, with no reported side effects (beyond the obvious egg allergy).
