Did You Know…that almost everything we’ve been told about how to protect our dental health is dead wrong?
According to dental health expert and author Gerald Judd, the most widespread facts about dental health—such as “sugar causes cavities” and “fluoride protects your teeth”—are completely false.
Dr. Gerald Judd has dedicated his career to uncovering the real means to perfect dental health. Dr. Judd is currently a Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at Purdue University. Prior to that, he spent 18 years working inside the industry as a researcher, and 35 years as a professor, speaker, radio host, and writer. Dr. Judd’s book, Good Teeth, Birth to Death: The Prescription for Perfect Teeth, is his best-known work.
In Good Teeth, Birth to Death, Dr. Judd exposes the major myths and lies of the dental industry, and lays out simple methods for keeping your teeth strong, healthy, and beautiful for life.
Dental Disaster—Why do 40% of Older Americans Lose Their Teeth?
More than 40% of Americans over 65 years of age have no natural teeth remaining—and it’s a miracle this epidemic of tooth decay isn’t worse considering the amount of fluoride contained in our water and dental care products.
The evidence is clear: Contrary to popular belief fluoridation damages teeth and has little to no ability to reduce the occurrence of cavities. And several large, reliable scientific studies all found fluoride dangers in water at as low a dose as one part per million (ppm) increases dental cavities.
Deadly Fluoride Dangers
The supposedly “protective” fluoride chemical is so toxic that a lethal dose is only 2.5 mg, compared to 400 mg of arsenic! Tragically, fluoride dangers have been indicated in the deaths of about 120,000 cancer patients annually.
These risks are intolerable considering that fluoride does not protect your teeth. Instead, it destroys adenosine diophosphate, a crucial enzyme needed for building and restoring tooth enamel.
The Real Truth About Tooth Health
According to Dr. Gerald Judd, avoiding fluoride can prevent more than 114 ailments. Levels as low as 1 ppm of fluoride can cause ailments ranging from cancer to headaches.
Dr. Judd also reveals the startling fact that sugar has no detrimental effect whatsoever on tooth enamel.
In Dr. Judd’s laboratory studies, he examined 3 kinds of sugar:
- Fructose
- Glucose
- Sucrose
Not one of the 3 sugars was able to dissolve calcium phosphate in the slightest. That means these sugars are incapable of causing cavities or tooth decay.
The real culprits behind cavities are acidic foods. A quick way to identify acidic foods is to check their pH. Anything greater than 4.0 poses dental risk.
This list includes:
-
• Lemons
• Grapefruit
• Oranges
• Pineapple
• Kiwi
• Tomatoes
• Vinegar
• Cider
• Chewable vitamin C
Dr. Judd recommends sipping water, milk, coffee, or other non-acidic liquids while eating in order to mitigate the effects of acidic foods and beverages.
Optimal Oral Hygiene
Dr. Judd’s final advice on dental health is that you absolutely must avoid toothpastes, gels, and other products that contain fluoride. Instead, he advises that you use bar soap to clean your teeth. (Considering that bar soap can also contain harmful chemicals, most natural health practitioners would recommend that you carefully select a natural soap for this purpose.)
According to Dr. Judd, bar soap does an excellent job of…
- Cleansing the surfaces of your teeth
- Reducing tooth sensitivity
- Preparing your teeth for re-enamelization
Avoiding fluoride and cleansing teeth with bar soap preserves your adenosine diophosphate, delivers phosphate to the calcium on the surfaces of your teeth, and ensures that your enamel will become stronger and more beautiful over time.
